What makes a good writer?
Good Writers...
know where they are going and where they are going to end up
have an idea how it should sound and try to match their voice to it
use their reading to inform their writing
have a style repertoire to choose from
listen to see if it 'sounds right'
attend to the needs of the reader
rehearse and re-read
select and reject
concentrate
evaluate their own work as they write
