During Year 12 you will gain knowledge
and experience of General Studies through the Speakers Programme.
You should also make sure you keep up

If you choose then to take General
Studies in Year 13 then the following will apply
General Studies is an A-level
which all Year 12 students have the opportunity to do, perhaps as a 4th or 5th one.
General Studies is an A-level subject in
its own right and covers science, art and humanities and would probably help to balance
out an A-level combination.
Some of the good points about this
A-level are as follows:
- Many Universities and Higher education
centres now accept General Studies, this number is growing all the time.
- Estimates suggest that about 1/3 of
A-level students get their University place because they have General Studies A-level.
- There is no hard evidence for this, but
it seems that General Studies is the best correlation indicator of the class of degree
students come out with.
