Namibia a little country in southern Africa, which has the highest tuberculosis (TB) notification rate in the world, this week announced a five-year action plan to combat the disease. The plan includes increased investment in healthcare and medical personnel, more laboratories, and intensified TB information and communication campaigns. Kenyan firms need to spend more on the war against HIV/Aids to avoid the disease's impact on their profitability. In a report released yesterday, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) says many Kenyan businesses are yet to understand the full impact of the disease on their operations. The survey found out that most Kenyan companies have not attempted to establish the proportion of their workforce that might be infected by HIV/Aids. THE Keetmanshoop Town Council has reconnected the water supply to Government offices at the town. The water supply was suspended on Tuesday because of long overdue debts. The Keetmanshoop Municipality's Chief Executive Officer, Jerry Shangadhi, said yesterday that the water supply of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Works and Ministry of Safety and Security had been reconnected. However, he pointed out that the Police and Prison departments were reconnected on condition that they pay the full amount by the following Tuesday.
