Text Box: Melton Country Park;

Melton Country Park Just 10 minutes' walk from the town centre, it's easy to find yourself in the countryside. The park covers 140 acres, with areas of nature conservation, football pitches, picnic and children's play areas. Walk around the lake and watch all sorts of bird like including swans. You can also walk on the disused branch line of the Great Northern and London North West Joint railway (1879-1953). In Queen Elizabeth It's Anniversary Avenue you will see 40 commemorative oaks.
The Jubilee Walk goes through the park leading to Scalford and eventually joins up with the Viking Way. At the northern end of the park and close to some Roman remains is the new Visitor Centre with exhibition on local history and geology; refreshments available; children's play area.

Twin lakes;

There is so much to explore at Twin lakes with 80 acres of attractions tucked under the beautiful Leicestershire Wolds. Designed for every member of the family to have a great day out.
