Melton Mowbray
is located in the East Midlands. Which is in the county of
Leicestershire.
Melton is very well known for its cheese (especially stilton) and their Pork Pies. Location Melton is situated near Nottingham, Grantham, Oakham, Leicester and Loughborough. They are all within 20 miles from the town. Just a little further away are Stamford, Market Harborough and Peterborough. London is 105 miles and Nottingham East Midlands Airport is only 22 miles away. There are frequent trains to places such as Leicester, Birmingham, Peterborough. The market town is home to manufacturers, research and educational institutions of national importance. Also the town has a long established association with foxhunting, pork pies and Stilton cheese, it is a popular and lively place to visit, especially on market days which date back over 1000 years. |
