Module 2:

Approximately 2 weeks will be spent on each of: Estimation and Powers; Graphs; Algebra. Pupils will be looking at powers and roots as well as methods for estimating; The rules of BODMAS will be revised. Pupils will be drawing and using conversion graphs; Distance/Time graphs will be used so pupils will be calculating differences in time and using speed formulae. Number patterns will be examined so pupils can find the Nth term; Numbers will be substituted into formulae and pupils will be solving equations.

Module 3:

Approximately 2 weeks will be spent on each of: Transformations; Negative Numbers; Straight lines. Pupils will be reflecting and rotating shapes as well as identifying shapes with properties of symmetry; Pupils will also be translating and enlarging given shapes. Pupils will be recapping ordering negative numbers and calculating differences in temperature; Inequality signs will be used; Pupils will learn the rules for using negative numbers and will be using negative numbers in formulae. Pupils will look at rules for vertical and horizontal lines; The formulae y = mx + c will be introduced and pupils will start to consider points of intersection.

Module 4:

Approximately 2 weeks will be spent on each of: Percentages and Fractions; Probability; Area and Enlargement. Pupils will be finding percentages by using 10% and 1% as building blocks as well as using calculators to find any percentage; Percentage increase and decrease in real life situations will be considered; Pupils will be calculating with fractions and looking at the equivalence between fractions, decimals and percentages. With probability, pupils will be using scales and fractions to describe the chances of something happening; Pupils will also be looking at using sample space diagrams. Pupils will calculate the area of rectangles, triangles, compound shapes, parallelograms and trapeziums; What happens to area when shapes are enlarged will also be considered.

Module 5:

Approximately 2 weeks will be spent on each of: Measures and Ratio; Volume; Crossing Points and Equations. Pupils will be expected to learn metric and imperial measures; Pupils will also look at using proportion and sharing in a given ratio. Pupils will calculate the volume of cubes, cuboids and various other prisms first by counting squares and then by using formulae. Pupils will be drawing straight lines and looking at the point of intersection; As well as drawing diagrams to help them, pupils will be using the rules of algebra.

Module 6:

Approximately 2 weeks will be spent on each of: Statistics (2); Trial and Improvement;  (Averages); Constructions and Circles. Pupils will be calculating the mean, mode, median and range of sets of data including grouped data; Pupils will also be looking at frequency polygons and tends over time. Pupils will use tables to close in on unknown values; Inequalities will be revisited both graphically and algebraically. In the final topic, pupils will be using compasses, angle measurers and rulers to create accurate diagrams and nets; Pupils will name parts of circles and consider the use of pi.
