Identification
Children with ADD/ADHD often show:
- poor concentration span
- difficulty in focusing on conversations or instructions.
- they do not seem to listen
- difficulty in remembering things.
- they often lose things
- a tendency to daydream
- difficulty in organising their work
- problems staying on task and finishing work
- difficulty in staying still
- a need to move quickly - always on the go
- a tendency to be restless even when asleep
- problems in considering the consequences of their actions, waiting their turn
- a need for immediate reward
- excessive movements
- over-frequent changes of activity
They are often:
- impulsive
- talkative
- quick-tempered
- demanding
- intolerant
- impatient
- unpredictable
- easily frustrated
